The role of Angel in the upcoming X-Men 3 movie from 20th Century Fox has apparently been cast.
Actor Ben Foster, best known for his role in HBO’s Six Feet Under will play the mutant known as either Angel or Archangel.
In the comics, Angle is Warren Worthington III a millionaire mutant with feathered wings. Later in the comics his wings were cut off and replaced with metallic ones. At which point he changed his name from Angel to Archangelm though they later the wings re-grew.
Ben Foster joins along with newcomers Kelsey Grammer (The Beast), and Vinnie Jones (The Juggernaut) join the regular cast of the X-Men movies including Hugh Jackman, Famke Janseen and Ian McKellen.
X-Men 3 is being directed by Brett Ratner and is scheduled for release on May 26th 2006.
